About Azima Somatics Therapies

Azima Somatic Therapies was established with the intention to help people feel better in their bodies and their lives.
Andrea Kocerha is a PA state licensed massage therapist (#MSG003989) and Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner with over 20 years of bodywork experience. She studied massage at Omega Healing Arts School, received her Co-Active® Coaching training from Co-Active Training Institute, and has a BA in Organizational Communication and Theatre from Wilkes University.
Andrea has advanced training in Oncology Massage and Scar Tissue Work through Healwell®, and has studied nervous system-oriented approaches to healing with leaders in the somatic field including Peter Levine, Kathy Kain, Diane Poole Heller, Raja Selvam, Abi Blakeslee, Dave Berger, Joshua Sylvae, Linda Stelte, and Sean Frankino.
Andrea serves as a Coordinator and Training Assistant for the Philadelphia Somatic Experiencing training program, where she has supported multiple cohorts and collaborates closely with faculty to cultivate a supportive learning environment for emerging SE practitioners.
In addition to her private practice, Andrea provided hospice massage to terminally ill patients through Visiting Nurses Association of Philadelphia and has worked in several chiropractic settings. She is also a preferred provider for Unite for HER, a non-profit organization that provides wellness programs for women with breast and ovarian cancers.
Prior to becoming a somatic bodyworker, Andrea spent nearly 20 years working in the arts and entertainment industry. After experiencing significant burnout that impacted her health, she re-envisioned her life and aligned more deeply with her calling to support others through physical, emotional, and life transitions.
Andrea continues to use the same approaches she offers clients to support her own nervous system regulation, recovery, physical well-being and personal growth. She brings humor, curiosity, compassion, experience and deep listening to each treatment session along with the intention to help people feel more comfortable, resilient, and at ease in their in their bodies and their lives.
